Hey,
To gain faction I need to attain kills and victories in competitive missions...

could someone tell me what and where these are please?

Check here and select your campaign.

make a pvp char or click on the little boat on your map and go to the great temple of balthazar. You will be on a new map and can go to Random Arenas.
